What “engagement rate” means here

How it’s worked out, and how to compare it fairly across channels.

For one post

A post’s engagement rate is the share of people who saw it and then did something with it, like liking, commenting, or sharing. Karrow shows it as a percentage, as reported for that post.

For a channel or a period

For a channel, Karrow combines its posts’ rates weighted by how many people saw each one. A post seen by 10,000 people counts for more than one seen by 100, so one small post with a lucky reaction doesn’t skew the whole number.

Comparing channels fairly

Each platform counts things a little differently, so the same rate can mean different things on LinkedIn and X. It’s most useful for comparing a channel with itself over time, or one post with another on the same channel.

LinkedIn doesn’t report saves or clicks, and Reddit doesn’t report anything, so those channels may show fewer numbers.
